Mr. Alfred Charles Seymour Wright, O.B.E. passed away on the evening of Friday, June 5, 1998, six days prior to his 83rd birthday. According to his wishes, Charles was buried on a hillside in Big Falls, Toledo District, after a brief and private memorial service. Again according to his wishes, no memorial (save two newly planted trees) has been erected to mark the site.

Charles led an extremely productive and fulfilled life and though he lived alone, was felt kin by many persons in Toledo.  His written and oral contributions to the understanding of Toledo geography and development are too numerous to mention.  His generosity and kindness are unbounded, and his charm and ability as a story teller and a friend are well known to us all.   We will miss Charles Wright.  May he rest in peace and may his roles as a humanitarian and a generous scholar live on as an example for the world.
