Falls like these cascading into the
Bladen lead to a maze of underground
caves, the realm of Xibalba, Maya God
of the Underworld. Relics such as those
to your right are often found.

Belize was home to many of the ancient
Maya. The Maya of Caracol (Belize)
captured the legendary Tikal (Guatemala)
in AD 562.
Today, archaeologists continue
to discover more Maya cities
and ceremonial centers
in the Maya Mountains.
