Palms I am specializing in palms native to Belize (now have 19 of 38). Opportunistically, I also plant available palms for beauty. My preference now is to plant palms which are either endangered or those which have proven most useful in their habitats. Some palms have over 360 described uses! A few uses include such esoteric functions as serving as replacements for whalebone in corsets and as fibers for making ropes to restrain wild elephants.
